The Pilot Plastic Waste Recycling Project in the OECS (RePLAST OECS), is a two-year pilot initiative currently being implemented in Saint Lucia by UNITE Caribbean, a pan-Caribbean technical assistance and sustainable development partner. The RePLAST OECS Project is aimed at testing approaches and systems for setting-up a plastic waste collection and recycling scheme through export from Saint Lucia to Caribbean plastic recycling facilities, in a circular economy model.

Upon success of the pilot, the project shall be replicated to set up an OECS-wide plastic recycling system. The RePLAST OECS Project is a trailblazing initiative for the Caribbean, a public-private endeavor primarily funded by the French International Cooperation with major commitments of support from the Government of Saint Lucia (GOSL), the private sector and civil society.
